‘எதிர்பார்க்கப்படும் மஹ்தீ’ என்ற இந்த ஆய்வுக் கோவை ஹிஜ்ரீ 1388ஆம் வருடம் மதீனா இஸ்லாமியப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற ஆய்வரங்கில் அப்போதைய பல்கலைக்கழகத் துணை முதல்வரான கண்ணியத்திற்குரிய ஷெய்க் அப்துல் அஸீஸ் இப்னு அப்துல்லாஹ் இப்னு பாஸ் (ரஹ்) அவர்களின் முன்னிலையில் ஷெய்க் அப்துல் முஹ்சின் அல்அப்பாது அவர்கள் ஆற்றிய தீர்க்கமான உரையாகும். முஸ்லிம் சமூகத்தில் அவ்வப்போது எழுகின்ற பெருங்குழப்பங்களின் கூச்சங்களுக்கு மத்தியில் இமாம் மஹ்தீ (அலை) அவர்களின் பெயர் அடிபட்டுக்கொண்டே இருக்கின்றது. உண்மையில் இது மறுமையின் அடையாளங்களில் ஒன்றாக இருப்பதால், இமாமவர்களைக் குறித்த அஹ்லுஸ் ஸுன்னாவின் கொள்கை என்னவென்பதைத் தெளிவான ஆதாரங்களுடன் நிலைநிறுத்துவது அவசியமாகின்றது.
